It was called CitroŽn TPV, which is an acronym for 'Toute Petite Voiture'. Built in 1939.

Good tale in this article about the history of the TPVs, although it doesn't say how many there were.

I read somewhere there are 5 known to exist as prototype. :wow: They survived the World War II suffering....

Yes, there are five of these known. 49 prototypes were built, and a pre-series of 250 cars, but most have been demolished to prevent the nazis to use them. One was customized to a pick-up and used by the Michelin factory during the War. It is nowadays in the Musťe Henri Malartre in Rochetaillťe-sur-SaŰne (near Lyon). Another one was found in parts in 1970 and put together. That's the one we see here (and the others listed on IMCDb), and three were found in a barn on the CitroŽn testing area La Fertť-Vidame in 1994, where they had been hidden since 1939. These were in a rather bad state, but still... They were shown at Rťtromobile 1998: http://citcity.citroen1.info/2CV/retromobile1998.htm
