These two windows on every side of the tilt = 1970-1972. Such a late cars we can list under the UAZ brand. By UAZ they were made since 1954 (GAZ production was ended in 1956), however for some years they were still called GAZ. |

Yes, but this doesn't mean, that the name was UAZ-69. Unless you can provide a serious source it was an official name. Russian Wikipedia for example doesn't use UAZ-69 at all- https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%93%D0%90%D0%97-69 I suggest to rename all to GAZ, it would be much easier (otherwise 94% should be UAZ...) -- Last edit: 2016-02-13 16:22:27 |

They have been specially separated under the UAZ brand as curiosity.  Not since begining UAZ made 69s were badged "UAZ", by what I know. So only the ones which we can be sure that were made enough late to be badged this way are listed as UAZ (type of tilt is a sort of clue). If you and more members really want them to be listed as GAZ, they can be listed this way, I won't insist, but IMCDb isn't the only place in the web which uses name "UAZ 69". To me there's no use to create any new artificial category, to tell apart vehicles made by UAZ (which were 94% of production). I've already convinced to remove category UAZ-69 on Wikimedia Commons .gif ";)") |
