To distinguish an R-type Continental with a very similar body from an S1 Continental you have to check the snow traps (air inlets) below the headlamps: the R-Type Conti has round ones and the S1 Conti has large ones as shown here.

This is NOT the R-type Continental but the "1957 Bentley S1 Continental H-J. Mulliner Fastback".

To distinguish an R-type Continental with a very similar body from an S1 Continental you have to check the snow traps (air inlets) below the headlamps: the R-Type Conti has round ones and the S1 Conti has large ones as shown here.
