... and that is absolutely correct. The M numbers were allocated within a group of vehicles. There was an M5 light tank, M5 halftrack, M5 bulldozer and this M5 tractor -- all at the same time. That the halftrack and the tractor were produced by the same company is a mere coincidence. |
