Its either a late model 356 or an early model 911.

I'm thinking the 911.

Looks 911 Targa.

probably a 1967 model as drawn ~ no targas for 1966, and rubber on the bumper guards from 1968 onward.

1967 911 targa or 1967 912 targa though..?

its a 901 Model, definetly, so 911 or 912

Is it 911 or 912?
Well, we have the academic discussion here. :sun:
Let's write 1967 Porsche 911 Targa.

agreed... when we're given the right to decide between less or more displacement at random... by all means, we should have the extra horsepower.

:p

I'd guess they made more 911 targas in 1967 than 912 targas, so 911 would be more likely in the real world.

Hey folks, don't be too excited, don't forget, that here we a drawn car. ;)

Due this pic I just got a real dejá-vu! The ca. 1:43-car, made from red rubber, came into my mind, which my friend in the kindergarden's sandbox had (yes, it was such a long time ago ;) ): a pre-1974 Porsche Cabriolet. It was over 35 years ago, but I still remember its style and shape, because it was very close, at least identical, with the real 911 Cabriolet - but this was launched 10 years later! :wow:

Thanks DynaMike for the pic - but it was no Tomte Laerdal, it was bigger. I'm sure about that, because I still own my own Tomte Laerdal-cars. ;)

:wow: That model looks frightening. I guess there's more lead in it than in today's Chinese toys.

So what? I had y Tomte-Laerdal-cars mostly in the bathtub with me (o.k., not too many times in the last years) - and do you see any strange after-effects?

In the bathub... In fact, on pics, they look like carved in old soap :p : http://www.r16site.com/facts/Models/Tomte/Side.jpg ...

O.k., there you go, here are my rubber-cars, all have survied until today:

My mother has written the numbers on them, for a childen's birthday many years ago. You can clean them off, but I haven't found the time for it (in the last 30 years...)

Not all are from Tomte Laerdal, so the two Mercury Cougar's and the Jeep are from the West German company "Vinyl Line" and the towing truck (it lasted until entering IMCDB to identify it as an Japanese model ;) ) has the logo PM and "Germany" on the bottom.

After I've found out, that one guy in my plate-collector's-forum collects these rubber-cars, for sure I've asked him my very special question -for sure you will know, what question it was :D ), but he destroyed my hope. :(

P.S. Is the pic o.k., or shall I make annother one, with me using them in the bathtub?

Don't be sure about the 2 Pounds. The auction is not finished and the actual bidder is very keen on it, see the bids-listing. A bit naive handling. O.k., he just has 2 feedbacks. If a nasty friend of the seller would see that, he could push the price...

They aren't really cheap:

The German "copies" neither: Link to "modellbau.shop.ebay.de"

The tow truck looks like a Jeep FC.

Nice collection. :)

@CougarTim: thanks. ;)

Strange, that a West German company had made several models of cars, which in orign never were sold here. As the Jeep FC, the Cougar, the Oldsmobile Toronado etc.
Otherwise: in the Soviet Union two of the most common and locally produced 1:43-toy-cars were the NSU RO 80 and the Simca 1200 Coupé...

P.S. @DynaMike and Weasel1984: are the Porsche Cabrio and the R16, you have listed, made by Tomte Laerdal or by Vinyl line? Both are listed as Vinyl line in the eBay-list. :??:

In this Dutch site http://tomte-blog.over-blog.com/ext/http://www.tomte-toys.com/ many diferent makes are listed. The R16 has been made by several makes. Though both the Porsche and the R16 are often mentioned as Tomte Laerdal, I think they were actually only made by other makes...

Thanks for the link, but isn't the page rather Danish than Dutch? ;)

Oops! I found the Dutch link via this Danish one (Lenker -> Tomte in Holland).
