A Lincoln Cosmopolitan but is it a '49 or a '50? |

Check the last thumbnail. '50 models have wrap-around grille and a 'Cosmopolitan' script on the lower front fender. |

You're right, I think this is a '50. Changing, accordingly. |

Fortengo identified it as a 1949, and later gave the reasons why. From what I can make out from these dark pictures that would be correct. The grille of the 1950 wraps around the corner and in beneath the sidetrim, it´s likely to have made reflections even from the weak light on this picture. 1949 http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=53582 1950 Link to "www.eyeson.org" -- Last edit: 2010-07-13 11:32:09 |

Upon further review, I believe you are right, DAF. I based my ID on the fact the '49 has 2 heavy horizontal bars bisecting the grille which is peaked in the middle. The photo'ed car appeared to have a straight across grille with one heavy horizontal bar across is as the '50's did. One of the thumbnails does clearly show the non-wrapped feature you mentioned, however. As such, leaving as '49. |
