Coupé de Ville [41.100], the personal car of Jean Bugatti. Originally meant to be sold to the Spanish king Alfonso XIII (hence the nickname 'Royale'), but he decided to buy a Duesenberg. First, this car had a temporary Packard body (4-door open tourer), then a fiacre-like body called 'Coupé Napoléon', then a 7 seater sedan body, then a Weymann 2-door sedan and at last this Coupé de Ville body after a design of Jean Bugatti. It is now in teh Musée Nationale de l'Automobile (Collection Schlumpf) in Mulhouse, France. |
