Volkswagen Buggy |

No Volkswagen Buggy. It never existed one. It's a Buggy, based on a Volkswagen-platform. As it's in Britain, my guess is a Myers Manx. The platform is from a pre-1967-Beetle, see the wheels and brake-drums. |

YFW 699G or C? |

I can't match the YFW or YPW to a C or G issue. But if ingo's comment about pre-67 wheels stands, plate will be C = 1965. Commonest beach buggy in Britain was GP, sold 1968 onwards eg http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=404268 . So 1965 Beetle with 1968+ GP body? |

Agree, but the first three letters are sure YFW or YPW. But for the C, also agree. Most probably by the year. |

@Sandie - does your kitcar knowledge extend to beach buggies? |

Not really. GP Buggy is a safe guess probably safer than Manx as they were only briefly available in the UK and nowhere near as prolific here as the GP. I've tried a few plate combinations and YFM 699G is a VW 1200 with 1600 engine (which is still going strong!) so it might be that. In the olden days people never re-registered their cars after conversions. |
