I'd say it was a Ford LTD, but it doesn't have hideaway headlights. |

Definitely 1970 Ford. Perhaps a Mexican-market only model. |

1970 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback Hardtop Coupe .Contrary to the Ltd the Galaxies and Customs had no hideaway lights and the grille as seen here was very different. |

The badge after rear side window and script on front fender makes it 'just' XL and different model than the Galaxie 500 2-door Fastback Hardtop -63A-. There is an independent classification for these rares in the site: the Ford XL This one is XL Fastback Hardtop (also called SportsRoof) [57F] |

I'm gonna clear this up right now. I personally own a 1970 Ford XL sportsroof. There is no place anywhere on the car, inside or out, where it says "Galaxie" or "500". It is NOT a Galaxie 500 XL. In 1969 and '70, the XL became it's own model, separate from Galaxie. The XL for 1970 has hideaway headlights, a larger, grille-like trim panel on the back (between trunklid and top of bumper), and slanted "XL" emblems on the roof sail panels. This one shown here in this movie is a Galaxie 500, because it clearly has the Galaxie grille and fixed headlights, the smaller trim piece in the back, and those different emblems on the roof sides aren't in the same location as the "XL" emblems would be. This needs to be re-listed as a Galaxie 500 Sportsroof. |
