If this was a US-spec E34, it would have to be a `94-`95 E34. Since the movie is French, this E34 with the large kidney-grille, could have been out a year earlier than in the states. Therefore it could be acceptable. However, the more I look at this car, the more unique it is: it has 540i Sport Wheels (also shared with `93-on E34 M5's), and shadow-line trim (Euro-spec. only). It also has the extra turn-signal lamp aft of the front wheel - in the US, only the `95 E34's had this - not sure on Europe. Taking all this into account, it's most likely a `95 540i Sport. |

You make a good point benny. Examining the details on the car: Extra blinker light - I'm not sure what year the E34 first had this in Europe. From memory, I recall seeing a `89 535i E34 Euro with an extra blinker in one of my BMW books. Shadow-line trim (no chrome) - no US cars had this choice. From memory, looking at BMW E34's in my vast BMW book collection, I can't recall seeing this shadow-line trim. Must have been a very rare thing like on Alpina, Hartge, and maybe Euro M5's. (the photographed car above is NOT an M5 - it has an ordinary rear diffuser/valence panel) - also, form the photo it looks like it has clear turn-signals - this was NEVER avail. on an E34. So this car appears to be modified with after-market junk. The 540i Sport (like the M5) had different seats: the headrests are most obvious - they are very rectangular - not oval-shaped like most E34's and E32's. The car in this photo appears to have ordinary ones (hard to see clearly). Lastly, I know this is a `93-on E34 since it has the later, larger kidney grille - 1st installed in `93 for Euro models - `94 for US. I'll investigate more. |

I agree on the fact that it seems a modified one...the 540i wasn't so diffused in Europe. |
