Ep.7.05 "Split!" Double Personnalité My most wanted Aston ever Design by William Towns who was very inspired by the Italian masters in car design of that era (the best period for design in car history , in my opinion) -- Last edit: 2010-03-17 00:44:31 |

This episode was filmed in January 1968, so the car would have been absolutely brand new at the time. Given that GKX 8G was the car used in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, /vehicle_1824-Aston-Martin-DBS-1969.html, I would say that both are Aston Martin press fleet cars. |

Don't forget Diana Rigg was went that car in Dark green colour in in the 6th James Bond movie ON HER MAJESTY SCRET SERVICE opposite George Lazenby. Later yellow colour DBS 6 cylinder appear in the new Avengers which Late Gareth Hunt drove Red Jaguar V12 change the yellow Aston driven by bad guy in the episode the Midas touch. Before James Bond style these cars were never destroyed. |

YKX 2F was the first DBS built after the prototypes/development cars and to intended production spec, chassis DBS/5001/R, build date 10 October 1967 - with 5002/R built on same day, these were the only DBSs built in 1967. Still not quite final production spec - eg split front bumpers and had a Vantage engine - and is listed by the AMOC as a "Development car and 1967 Demonstrator" and was exhibited at the showrooms of David Brown Corporation in Piccadilly. Avengers filming was Feb 68 and then used for press articles in summer 68. Disappeared from record until tracked to US in 2002 with another sighting there in 2011, but nothing since. - http://www.dbsvantage.com/en/pages/production/dbs-5001-r.html |
