Made for UK as it's RHD? |

I'm pretty sure Jeeps were not sold officially in the UK back then. Could it be a third-party conversion to RHD? |

No, they were sold overseas. This is a 1978-83 Jeep Cherokee 4 door, not to be confused with the Wagoneer. If the grille is original, then it would be 1980-83. |

Yes, but I was specifically asking about the UK. I don't think there was an official Jeep distributor during the 1980s. |

Wikipedia says: 'The Cherokee [SJ] was marketed in left and right hand drive countries (such as the UK and Australia).' I have known of two earlier RHD SJs in this country. |

Jeep Cherokee imported to UK from Oct 77. By 1980 S, S V8, Chief, and Golden Eagle were sold, but I've got a gap in my sources beyond 1981. |

1JECE18NEDT026062 - confirms 1983. Our NA carfax says VIN is invalid so this is definitely an export model of some sort. |
