Sorry, but I cannot agree with this being a 1302: bootlid is too round, it's got the bigger rear lights, there are no grilles for ventilation behind the rear side windows... And since there are no little grilles in the front fenders, for the horns, it has to be a 1974 basic 1200 model (black trims) with some kind of sporty wheels as extra. |

To be precise it is the Volkswagen 1200L (August 1973 - July 1975). The '1200' had black painted bumpers. |

I think you're right, Alexander. I wasn't sure about 1200 or 1200 L, since my info ("VW Käfer - Ein Auto schreibt Geschichte" von Dr. Ulrich von Pidoll) says that the 1200 had black bumpers and boot-lid handle, whereas the 1200 L had the chrome bumpers (as this one) but also a chrome boot-lid handle.... The bumpers are quite convincing, though |

Front bumper replaced by a chromed one, damage to the front fender as well. 'Jeans' striping removed, but the rear bumper is black. A 1974 'S761 Jeans', as listed. -- Last edit: 2014-07-15 13:00:10 |
