Even though Superbas existed during the time period of the movie's story, a Superba was much less likely to be found in 1974. Also, Marathons were always civilian cars (as were Superbas), not taxicabs.

Actually, this would more likely have been a Marathon (A12) from 1962 to 1967. Even though Superbas existed during the time period of the movie's story, a Superba was much less likely to be found in 1974. Also, Marathons were always civilian cars (as were Superbas), not taxicabs.
