Some early indicators are mounted under the headlights in our market.

 Oval rear window, and no standard front indicators: between March 1953 and April 1955. The front bumper is of the double US-type (available since August 1955, model year 1956), missing its upper tube.

Since April 1955 US-Beetles had indicators sidewards under the headlights (more to the edge of the fender).
