jonathan23 ◊ 2009-12-02 15:16	The license plate looks like it's very late in the 1903-32 UK series (two letters/four numbers starting with XV when they were running out of codes) so perhaps it's about a 1930-31 model? It doesn't look quite big enough to be a Phantom (the P II would have been current then). Could it be the smaller R-R 20/25 chassis (manufactured 1929-36) under a custom hearse body (all Rollses were custom-bodied in that era IIRC)?
johnfromstaffs ◊ 2009-12-02 15:21	The plate was issued by London between Oct 1928 and Jan 1929. At such an early date in 1929 the chassis is almost certainly still a 20, the radiator shutters were changed to vertical on late model 20s to follow a family resemblance to the New Phantom. The hearse bodywork looks anachronistic, the car could have started life as a saloon or tourer, and been re-bodied when it fell upon harder times:- Animatronixx?? -- Last edit: 2009-12-02 17:12:02

We believe coachwork is by Woodall-Nicholson. Now track it down and let me know how much they want for it. juergensmuda a écrit All what is needed is the reg. number to say who the coachbuilder and what year she is. Pierre ◊ 2016-04-24 04:46	For what it's worth, FLM Panelcraft, Battersea, rebodied many an RR hearse in the late 1960s. Used to admire the stored, dusty black beauties from the train window on morning commute to the Bank. (Also did a nice shooting brake conversion of the Rover P6).
