Gliffhanger says in the forum Bentley Eight Blue Train Special but I've read 'Blue Train' was for 6½ litre Bentley Speed Six. The 2009 edition of the Bentley Drivers Club membership list says that this 1929 Speed 6 Bentley with bodywork by Gurney Nutting, and which beat the "Blue Train" from Monte Carlo to London in 1930 driven by Woolf Barnato is alive and well in America. Unless this picture is of a newly built replica, as the registration number is hidden from view this could have happened, you can be 100% sure that the car is a Speed Six, not an Eight. A standard 6 1/2 litre has a tapering radiator, a Speed Six has parallel sides, the standard car has a single five jet Smith carburetter, the Speed Six has twin SU carburetters and a higher compression ratio. The engines of both are six cylinder, coupling rod driven single overhead camshaft 6597cc.
