2491tj ◊ 2009-11-26 22:07	probably either an English or Canadian Ford V8..would have originally started as a 4 door saloon, then the civillian owner would have donated it for the war effort (being expensive to run), then it would have been converted into the YMCA "tea car" as per the picture....conversion carried out by many woodworkers etc. The tea car box body is a standard item which was grafted onto the back of many donated vehicles..usually big engined US or Canadian products...one such vehicle has just resurfaced in the Uk after being found in a garage...originally a 1941 oldsmobile 2 door convertible, it had a similar conversion done to turn it into a Civil defence ambulance.
pilou ◊ 2009-11-27 10:30	( English)1936-1939 Ford model 62 22 hp RAC 2,2 litre transformed into this canteen.It is not a Canadian model : Canadian Fords were similar to US cars .The 1937 model 78 produced in the US , Canada and England( as the 30 hp) ressembled this one but had straighter grille sides and louvre contour.The one here has blackout lights.
