Thomas M ◊ 2013-08-16 05:37	The film I wrote, Idaho Transfer was shot in 1971. The scene pictured here shows two of three automobiles we used as props. The Honda 600 Sedan was purchased brand new from a dealer in Seattle. The paint was carefully sandblasted from the body work (with the exception of the rear panel which was not metal) and it was allowed to rust while being used by the company during pre production work in Seattle. We sprinkled it with salt to hasten the rusting required to make it appear that it had been parked for decades on the abandoned road. It was great fun to drive it around town, a brand new car covered with rust. It was excellent in the snow. We used two other vehicles, a 1969 Plymouth Duster (shown in the background) and a 1969 Chevy pickup. They were treated the same way. The Honda was sold after the movie to, I believe, a rodeo company in Idaho. I would have liked to have kept it.
