The DeSoto is not an Airstream! |

There are two different cars here. One is a 35 DeSoto and one is a 35 Plymouth. My dad owned and drove the Plymouth. If you look it has the light on the roof, has a slightly different grille, it's about 8" shorter than the DeSoto, and the two dents on the front fenders came from a rush loading getting it ready to go film. It was used in the night scene filmed in downtown LA, and the oil fields which was an empty road in Lancaster, and many other shots like at the hotel and street driving. They also did most in-car taxi filming in our car because my dad let them drill holes in the floor to mount the cameras. Also, same car used in Harlem nights with Eddie Murphy, The Sting with Robert Redford but was painted green and cream.also a background car in Murder in the First with Kevin Bacon. And many others. -- Last edit: 2024-04-27 05:31:37 |
