This seems to be one of two buses that the Dillon Panthers primarily use: ![]() Seen in an earlier episode ![]() |

1987 or older International S-1700 |

Well with that grille it would have to specifically be a 1987-1988 model, right? And how were you able to tell exactly which one it was? |

That grille is for the 1978-86, which was before the Navistar International logo was added near the driver's side headlight. That makes this an International Harvester S-1700. -- Last edit: 2009-09-18 02:17:52 |

Two different buses. The first bus has a Ward Volunteer body. The second bus (from the earlier episode) has a Wayne Lifeguard body. The Ward is a 1983-1985 judging by the newer style marker lights, and the older style rear turn signal. The Wayne all I can say is its a 1979-1986 based on the chassis its on, with the older chassis logo. -- Last edit: 2009-09-18 08:13:23 |

So then they're different buses. Well in that case the main one has a Wayne Lifeguard body as it's the same one in the second thumbnail. Could you give me a year range? And is it really an S-1700 for sure or should I just call it an S-Series? -- Last edit: 2009-09-18 08:07:50 |

Ok i edited the years to the best i could estimate. not sure on the "trim level" of the chassis but its either a S-1700 or S-1800. S-Series would probably be the best name for it. Also the main bus is a Ward and is the most of the thumbnails. The Wayne is only in one the one at the football stadium. -- Last edit: 2009-09-18 08:17:39 |

Ahh I see. That was my mistake now. So the one in the main picture and most of the thumbnails is a 1983-1985 model. Thanks, I appreciate your input ![]() |
