I remember seeing this car in the TV commercials when the film was first released and thought the same thing you mention. How the heck could Dillinger be driving a car made in 1936 when he died in 1934?! The film production crew went through so much time, effort and expense for period correct locations and set-dressing and then they resort to such an obvious error as this in both the film and promotion of it. I realize the majority of people who watch this film wouldn't realize the anachronistic error of this car being in the film, but, there are thousands of old car enthusiasts who'll easily realize the error.
