It had the newer-style dash. Is it equipped with Silverado trim? |

I would say yes. Any dash views? Its no later than a 1995 model. -- Last edit: 2009-09-06 04:34:13 |

It had the rounded dash. Which I think first came with 1997 models, correct? |

The 1995 model year saw the new interior redesign, but only the driver got a SRS Air Bag. 1997 was the first model year for the passenger SRS Air Bag (the far right side of the dash was restyled to accommodate the air bag) |

It has the passenger SRS Air Bag making it no later than a 1997 model. (thanks for the extra cap ... ) |

So it's a 1997-1998 model in Silverado trim? Sorry, just want to confirm it. |

don't forget Fleetside |

Yes on '97 and Silverado |

Fleetside was not used to denote bed style on this generation of trucks. |

the Chevrolet C/K series brochure for 1997 that I have lists both Stepside and Fleetside models in the photo captions -- Last edit: 2009-09-06 05:59:58 |

Hmm, I suppose you'll have to ask Neptune about that one. But we don't include those names as we include the style of the cab for this and the newer generations. I think it's so that there isn't too much information cluttered together. |

It seems to be done both ways In these and some others the bed style is listed: /vehicle_42905-Chevrolet-K-1500-1995.html /vehicle_63587-Chevrolet-K-1500-1988.html /vehicle_40708-Chevrolet-C-K-Series-1988.html /vehicle_42912-Chevrolet-C-K-Series-1988.html Also some of the older ones have both cab and bed styles listed: /vehicle_220152-Chevrolet-C-20-1977.html /vehicle_15903-Chevrolet-C-30-1975.html /vehicle_34725-Chevrolet-C-30-1979.html /vehicle_179900-Chevrolet-C-30-1985.html Why list the older ones but not the newer ones? -- Last edit: 2009-09-06 06:14:54 |

Yes, we don’t include the cab name for the Rounded line generation (73-87) for they only had one 2-door standard cab configuration (with the exception of the Crew Cab on 20 and 30 grade trucks, we do list Crew Cab for them. Even still they mainly came in 2-door form) Newer trucks have at least three different cab configurations now so we include them. And at some point Chevrolet and GMC abandoned the Fleetside/Wideside/Stepside/Fenderside bed names. They use generic descriptive names now. Also there is the issue of over cluttering of the name bar. Could we include the bed names? Sure we could, but do we really want to clutter the page as enough info is already presented? I did list the bed name for the new generation of truck before adopting a standard for listing them (note the comment dates) -- Last edit: 2009-09-06 06:26:29 |

I understand about the cluttering , Quite frankly I don't think the bed style is relevant at all ( I was just trying to keep consistent) |

To Neptune's defense, it was only a while back that we came to a sort of agreement about the standardization of how we would name these trucks. There are still many out there that are not named properly, but we are slowly changing that. So right now there is a sort of standard/consistency in place. |

Sadly it is only proof there is still a lot to clean/tidy and organize ... |

Yes indeed But hopefully when antp upgrades the listing format, it should be easier for us. |

ok well at least now i know how they should be listed for when i make my comments |
