Windshield and side window makes it look like a Ford C-900 with some armor palting added to the front.

Made from 1960 onwards, and unlike the Chevrolet version, it had single headlamps from the beginning. So why was it set with a 1964 model year?

RRR wrote This vehicle is a 1964 GMC Fire/Rescue rig originally purchased by the Union City NJ FD. Obtained from a fire equipment supplier by NBC for the 1989/90 'True Blue' TV series. The production co transformed it to the tune of $75,000 to its unique look for the TV series. Can bee seen elsewhere on this site in 'Ransome' and appeared in 'the Seige' and 'Daylight' (don't blink) in 1998.

An article was written about the transformation, with photos, in the Sept/Oct 1989 issue of Fire Apparatus Journal.

Thanks. I found indeed this "source" since my previous comment, but just one guy (who has since disappeared) copy-pasting almost the same comment 3 or 4 times in the IMCDb without any external source isn't an irrefutable clue, for me.
