1935 Leyland Pump Escape Reg. Mark JL 2323. Petrol engined (6 side valve), previously owned by Holland (Lincs.) County Council and used at Spalding. Pump pressure 150 lbs per sq. inch (max), delivery rate 50 – 60 gallons per min (Max). This type with an open cab, continued to be produced into the 1940’s. Used in the ‘Dad’s Army’ television programme, featuring in 'Brain Versus Brawn' filmed at Stanton Downham and Walnut Tree Farm, Bressingham in 1972. |
