Trust me there is a badge on the front fender in front of the cowl. Did the Firesweep series have this script in 1955? |

Check out all the organizations' logos included on the sign. I'll start off L-R (clockwise): Kiwanis, Rotary Club, Freemasons?, ?, Kiwanis, ?, Lions Club, Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), ?, Lions Club. |

Could be that sign was made for the movie. Another said "Joplin, MO" but all filming locations listed were in New Mexico. imdb: "Errors in geography: When Carroll O'Connor's truck stops in Joplin, Mo., early in the movie, mountains are clearly visible in the background. There are none in Joplin." Are there mountains around Tulsa? Like "ACME" on the truck, the fake generic name mostly found in Looney Tunes cartoons. ![]() |

Yeah, the lettering is pretty generic. Hard to sell "bathroom fixtures" by those words themselves. A real manufacturer would likely be more creative, yes? Now, about the De Soto... -- Last edit: 2009-07-31 08:16:29 |

There was no Firesweep in 1955, only Firedome and Fireflite. In my Crestline DeSoto book, this side trim says Fireflite. The Firedome had a less flashy trim. |
