Ingo ◊ 2008-02-06 18:53	The W 126 S-Klasse came out in late 1979. But the 560 (SE or SEL doesn't matter) was launched in 1986, as a successor for the 500. The number shows (mainly) the size of the engine, the "L" after the "SE" just the longer chassis (to recognize at the back doors).

dsl ◊ 2018-03-09 15:43	Q-Ball wrote actually, the pic at the bottom isn't the same car. The lookalike is a 1970s S-Klasse [W116] - shape, older alloys etc. So the main 560SEL was not damaged, apart from having those horrible spoilers fitted.
