Similar as Jaguar's: cheap as used cars, so always destroyed in German movies. |

that's the last style front bumper, so it's probably a 91 or 92 model. that bumper wasn't offered in 1986. |

I'm pretty sure that this Firebird crash was originally intended to be used in an early Alarm für Cobra 11 episode. In a making-of special aired on DSF (some time before Cobra 11 began airing, I think), they showed how they made a lot of stunts from Cobra 11's first season (apparently, at that time, the show was to be called "Autobahnpolizei"), and in the midst of it all, they showed the making of this Firebird crash (with no mention of "Der Clown"). In this movie, right before the Firebird hits the highway, the main character looks at it with a pair of binoculars. Upon closer look, the car shown in the binocular POV shot is not the Firebird, but the Nissan that was wrecked earlier in the movie. Additionally, in the intro for Cobra 11's first season, we can see a shot of this Firebird speeding on the highway, which happens in this movie. I know the same Firebird was in episode 1.04 of Cobra 11, but in that episode, the Firebird was driving around a parking lot and was never speeding on a highway. All that, plus the fact that this crash scene seemed jarringly rushed, suggesting that they added this scene at the last second. (Worth mentioning, we get a cameo of Erdogan Atalay playing his character from Cobra 11 right afterwards, investigating the crash scene.) So I'm quite sure that this crash was originally intended to be one of many in Cobra 11, or at any rate, not intended for this movie. EDIT: More evidence. Upon closer look, both have the same license plate. -- Last edit: 2019-06-22 04:06:01 |
