Are those pre-1966? |

Ye (old hubcaps, vertical window divider in the door windows). I'd say both are 1961/62 versions, by the indicators and still a Wolfsburg shield on the front of the bootlid. I'm a bit puzzled by the wholes in the wheels of the first Beetle, though. And what was the designation for the Export version in Norway? |

I think the holes are actually in alloy wheel-trims. IIRC they were made for 1966 my 1300s but fitted earlier models. |

That's true, Chris, the 1966+ models had those holes (sorry I wrote 'wholes' in my other comment above). But since 1966 the hubcaps were flat, since 1965 the window division in the door window was slanted and sincew 1963 there was no Wolfsburg logo at the front of the bootlid... so there's something wrong here... |

There was a number of aftermarket wheel trims available back then, both from factory and from independent manufacturers. It might be one of those, but they indeed resemble the style of the 1966 models. By the color I would guess it´s a 1962 MY but I´m far from sure. If so it´s called 1200, if it´s a 1961 I´m not sure what they were called in Norway. Maybe Limousine? |
