Very few details here .The door is very long .Side moldings and door handles look Lincoln. It could be a Lincoln Convertible Victoria of 1934(Convertible Victorias had bodywork by Brunn). But I am afraid that's all I can make of these pictures. |

I guess I need help confirming if this could be a Packard Victoria from about 1937 rather than a 1934 Lincoln Convertible Victoria? This follows a possible identification by 'Classic franklin' of Cary Grant driving a 1937 Packard Victoria in the movie. Picture of a 1937 Packard 12 convertible Victoria..... ![]() The only view of the front from the movie is extremely small (in the centre). -- Last edit: 2007-08-31 16:00:36 |

Not this Packard anyway. In the film frame, you can see that the car has no vent window (the Packard's got one), and that the top has a curve and goes down lower than the window, to the side molding. It does'nt on the Packard. I checked the factory pics of those Lincoln Victoria by Brunn in the Crestline Lincoln-Mercury book, and I agree with Pilou: Lincoln Convertible Victoria by Brunn, but 1935 and not 34. The pictures match perfectly. You can tell 1935 by the straight door top and side molding. In 1934 the top of the door is slightly curved upward, and the molding follows. Not here and in 1935. Also from the top, longer and slanted at the back. In 1934 it is shorter and ending vertically, so the trunk is more protruding. Hope my english isn't too lousy and these explanations are clear enough. |
