 Were they ever sold as Renaults in the US? I thought the Eagle badge was used for these.

Yes, carchasefanatic is absolutely correct. It's an 1987 Renault Medallion; Mom had one.

 i believe that the Medallion was only badged as a Renault for the 1987 model year, after that it was badged an Eagle

 Indeed, I checked and you are correct. I was only confused because of karoomay's comment, but clearly he did not know the difference between the Renault and Eagle versions.
