Houses still survive. Location is Coburg Street, Gateshead. |

Has fake/re-registered G plate (1968-69) in film - too late for a Mk2. That door is about to be smashed off by Carter's Cortina. -- Last edit: 2011-08-10 05:05:19 |

3.4 or 3.8 litre. Probably 3.4 litre by the steel wheels. -- Last edit: 2011-09-27 12:08:50 |

2 cars - thumb has wire wheels and a big dent in rusty front wing. |

How did I miss that? (Also dent in front wing which I did see.) |

I think you missed it because the two cars are actually different. The car in the first picture has pressed steel wheels and no dent in the front wing. The second car looks a bit of a 'roughie' all round by comparison. I think the first photo is actually of the later scene when the door gets knocked off. The second photo is when the two heavies first arrive. Tony Beckley, in the blonde wig and tan leather jacket, is getting out of the driver's side at the beginning, and is later waiting to deal with Jack Carter from the passenger side. |

I'd noticed the dented wing before. I assumed that it must've got bent in the 'door off' moment, and a door had been put on the car for this take. I see I'm wrong now! I'd always thought the 'G' registration glared out, particularly on that shiny yellow plate. According to DVLA XLE33G belongs to a white Morris 1275cc (probably a Minor, then) last taxed in 1982. I wonder if it was a car belonging to someone involved in the film. ![]() |

Registration XLE 33G Make MORRIS Model 1300 (A 1968 Minor would be 1098cc) |
