1952 was the only year that the front bumper guards were available, 1951 has a different grill also. The car is a "52 |

This car looks nothing like a 1952 Mercury. A 52 looks like http://www.plan59.com/images/JPGs/mer52yard02.jpg |

As far as I can tell from my reference books ...1952 cars had "Z" shaped chrome trim on the rear wing and sills. I agree I cannot find any pics of a 1951 with the higher front bumper guards.! (but also stick with the rounded back being a 1951 model.!) ...maybe this is a 1951 & 1/2 model.! (bits of both) ..also as the series is 1952 (...and Low Budget.!) ..is it likely they'd have a brand new car.? -- Last edit: 2006-02-22 01:11:05 |

Again, the 1952 mercury was completely restyled and looked nothing at all like the earlier cars. This is 1948 to 1951 body style. Here is a picture of a 51 with the high overriders: Link to "www.huffreport.com" -- Last edit: 2006-02-22 03:08:43 |

Thanks, but there is no need for an apology. You said nothing offensive. Besides, I made enough mistakes when posting this movie that if any apology is needed its probably from me to everyone including you. -- Last edit: 2006-02-22 16:33:29 |

Quite true, one can't find many originals. Most have become lead sleds! |
