Almost incredible that parts of Germany still looked like this 23 years after the war... Just visible baheind the Mercedes-Benz [W111] a nice Volkswagen Karmann Ghia [Typ 34]. Only 11 on this site... |

@DynaMike: In West-Berlin there were more locations like this. In West Germany most of them were gone in the early 60ies. So I -born in 1970- cannot imagine, that I have seen houses, damaged by the war. I remember one scene in 1985, in a small village close to the Dutch border. I was really stunned, when I say holes of MG-shots at an old pig-stable (on the wall to the West). Sure, in the GDR you had these damaged houses all the time, even today some are left. To see this, was really exotic for West Germans. btw.: 3 years ago I've seen again some WWII-MG-shots, in a brick-wall around an old farmhouse in our village, also on the side to the West. |
