I would go for a 1959 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Convertible. There do not seem to be opening fracture lines on top of the rear trunk lid that would point to a Skyliner opening panel. The difficulty with the 1959 Ford Convertibles , Sunliners and Skyliners is due to the fact that they were initially listed in the Fairlane 500 series and then continued as Galaxies at mid-year at the time the boxed square Thunderbird style roof was grafted onto the top-line standard Ford sedans and coupes announced as a new Galaxie line. So , unless one can read the script on the rear fender, a Sunliner or a Skyliner may be a Fairlane 500 ( grossly first half year production) or a Galaxie ( second half year production) .The only other different point is that Galaxie interiors were made even plusher as seems to be the case here. |
