The front in the extra pics looks somewhat like a Cunningham. http://www.jimhayes.com/Wolery/lockcun2.jpg

I would disagree. It doesn't bear much resemblance to my eyes.

I can't argue, just the general shape of the front in the thumbnails caught my eye.

Isn't #55 a Jaguar?

The car is way too small for a Cunningham, which were massive V8-powered cars. This is another 750-1100cc sports car. Probably, repeat, probably, a Gordini.

It is. So is the dark car disappearing to the left.

Junkman, look at /vehicle_22505-unknown.html I think the unknown behind the Healy might be the same car and would like your opinion.

I don't know if its that small. I watched the movie and it seems about the same size as a Jag 120.

Don't just make wild guesses. Note that this movie was made in 1954 - some 45 years before the Alero. :)

I bought another book this past weekend..and thought I may have found this car ... but again ..Not correct.! (a couple of similar features ..but still not a match.!) ..the car I believed it could be.. was a Moretti ...also another Italian make at the time ...with some shape similarities is the Giaur ... again not the same as the car in this film.!)
..Never mind..i'll keep looking.! ;)

Do you mean Allard? It looks more like a Cunningham than an Allard but back then the owners modified the cars so much it was hard to tell.

Maserati A6 GCS first series with the new, Carraroli-designed body, immediate predecessor of the A6 GCS/53 Fantuzzi spider. Here we can see it racing at Torrey Pines in 1955:
