to be more precise this is the face lift celica type TA23 built between 74 and 77 to be recognized by the longer front with straight vertical shape (see the vertical blinkers etc...) It also had a bump in the hood which the first ta22 did not have. The first version was the ta22 with a more diagonnally sloped shape at front, more like a sharp knife. This one has a flat front. |

This scene was the reenactment of the murders of Douglas and Isabel Wilson, two drug couriers who worked for the "Mr. Asia" Syndicate, who were shot by hitman, James Bazley at a motel near Rye, Victoria on the night of the 13th April 1979. What led to the Wilsons murders was that in late 1978, Terry Clark, using the name of Queensland's controversial premier at the time, Joh Bjelke-Petersen and the Wilsons were staying at a Gold Coast hotel when police, responding to a noise complaint from the hotel staff, had arrested them with heroin in their possession. After their arrest, Doug Wilson had told detectives from the Queensland Police Service about Terry Clark's drug operations, which was recorded. After the interview, Queensland Police then turned over the tape of Doug Wilson's interview to the Federal Narcotics Bureau (FNB) and the officers who were on Clark's payroll had then in turn, turned the tape over Clark. When Clark listened to the tape, he ordered the murders of the Wilsons, so he sent them to Victoria on a pretense of doing a drug buy from a dealer staying at the motel. When Doug and Isabel Wilson arrived at the motel, they met Bazley who then shot the couple and then drove the bodies a short distance to Rye-Back Beach and buried their bodies in a grave. At the time of their murders, the Wilsons had a dog who survived the slaughter and was presumed that Bazley took the dog in. The couple's bodies was found by a man walking his dog on the morning of the 18th May 1979. -- Last edit: 2025-09-03 06:24:29 |
