Descendant of the Taunus/ Cortina. Maybe Otosan?

I wonder where this scene is filmed.
The list of filming locations does not have any arabic countries. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt1087832/locations

I'm inclined to think this is a Taunus, being LHD, but not an Otosan-made one, as these had a more elaborate grille: http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/2552/2981/6378990005_large.jpg .

It looks like a Mk5 Ford Cortina with Rubber bumpers, Maybe a Turkish built Taunus.

Set in Pakistan, no idea where it was made (same location as the Chevy SUVs)

The base is definetely a Ford Taunus [TC2], the grille looks a bit like the 1980+ facelift, but the bumpers were never used for the European versions.

Any Ford-specialist over here, who know, in which countries the Taunus/Cortina was assembled, too?

P.S.The grille of the Europan 1980+ Taunus [TC3] was originally black, not in the same colour like the car. And the TC3 never had plastic bumpers. Chrome in 1980, black painted metal in 1981/82.

This is bumper of the Citroen BX ph. 1. Home made customization. :D So, judging by the countries were it was filmed and the fact that it is a LHD, 1980 Taunus (with painted grill).

Pakistan drives on the left, and most of the cars there seem to be Japanese models. Someone worked hard to find this car (I'd be surprised if Taunuses were very common in former Soviet countries), and got it completely wrong. :)

It seems that production of the Otosan Taunus was initiated in late 1985, and that the car was virtually identical to the European Taunus [TC3] (with the exception of color-coded grilles) from 1986 to 1988, when the front fascia was redesigned with four headlamps. In 1991 the car was also restyled once more with a more elaborate front end, remaining mostly unchanged until production ended in 1994.

@Ingo: The Taunus/Cortina was also built by Argentina, Taiwan (Ford Lio-Ho) and South Korea (Hyundai).

Some pictures of Turkish Taunuses can be found here:

The front bumper belongs (or better belonged) to a Citroen BX GT (1985)! :sun: No wonder why doesn't fit so well with the left fender. Direction light seems a little bit overexposed and if I see well already broken..(Weasel1984 is accurate)

Perhaps some former owner had to make to and mend with any spares they could get hold of to repair accident damage
