This side window is quite characteristic, but I don't remeber now for which car. -- Last edit: 2009-03-06 21:21:37 |

Well the Opel Rekord [D] had the same belt-line form, but other makes may also be similar. /vehicle_164647-Opel-Rekord-1972.html -- Last edit: 2009-03-06 22:19:16 |

I don't think it's a Rekord D (-> weather strips, shape and position of the mirror, window frame...) Link to "www.hyts.hu" |

Very easy to recognize it - a car of my childhood. My father had two of them. It's a 1974/75 VW Passat [Typ32]. Only an early model, because it has a chrome mirror. It can be an 1973/75 Audi 80, too, but my deep, personal feeling says "Passat". Perhaps because there were more white Passat's than Audi 80 (if I remember correctly). |

The upper part suggest something different, but the doors must be opened a bit - and that's why side window has such shape. |

I cannot see, that the doors are open. Also the upper part is typical Passat. |

I didn't mean that you are wrong (I renamed it from "unknown" to VW after your comment ), but that the Passat had straight bottom line of the window and here it does look different, because, perhaps the doors aren't entirely closed or more probably it is just such optical illusion, due to angle and other lines. -- Last edit: 2009-03-09 21:35:08 |

But the bottom line and other lines, too, ARE straight!? Even for me - with minus 6 Dioptrien and after two beers.... |

For me, by what was visible from this pic it had such shape: (pic lost) -- Last edit: 2018-07-01 17:52:49 |

There is no question it is a VW Passat. The Opel Rekord never had have a triangle window at the front doors. This car has triangle windows: The main window is open but the outer mirror still reflected in the window - because it is the little triangle window in the front doors. The picture isn't sharp/good enough to see the small black strap between the triangle window and main window (because the background is black, too). And compare the mirrors of the cars - they are nearly same. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/4677/vwpassat1974hlyellowtce.jpg |
