From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Parisienne :".........the Bonneville name replaced the Parisienne; however, the wagon model (known just as "Safari") continued until 1989. So let's go to call it simply "Safari". Someone to guess its year production? Here some examples: 1987 http://www.stationwagon.com/gallery/1987_Pontiac_Safari.html 1988 http://www.stationwagon.com/gallery/1988_Pontiac_Safari.html Just Found: 1986 http://www.nettiauto.com/viewVehicle.php?id_car=2302308 -- Last edit: 2008-12-23 18:40:22 |

if it is an 83-85 it is a Parisienne Safari as the "Safari" was only from 87-89 b/c the Parisienne model was dropped |

'83 or '84 Parisienne Safari. Can't see the woodgrain clear enough to see if there are the horizontal slats on the decal. Side note: The Parisienne Safari and Caprice Estate for '82 (Canadian), 83 and '84 (USA) differed by the following: Grille, taillamps, hood ornament, interior nameplate (the '83 Pontiac brochure showed a Chevrolet dash - complete with "Chevrolet" on the clock), hub caps, exterior nameplates, body side molding and the color of the woodgrain. Some Caprice Estate wagons ended up with Buick Estate tail lamps. All of these cars were built in Oshawa. In '85 the Pontiac returned to the thicker "wood" surround molding and taller woodgrain that Pontiac had through the 70s. |
