Made for RI as specifications may be differed than other markets, such as its JDM counterpart. Indonesian built too, once locally assembled by Krama Yudha Kusuma Motor (KKM). Once a Gen Y favorite here. Often colloquially nicknamed here as the Catfish Galant (Galant Lele), or I like to refer this generation as the "Catfish-era Galant". |

Agree with above, locally assembled and made for RI. It was a popular car, but the EA "Sharknose/Hiu" Galant was by far a much loved favourite for many Gen Y because it had huge V6 power (170HP was a big number for the country, and they were decently affordable). There were stories circulating that the EA Galant outran traffic police back in the late 90s and early 2000s, and the police ended buying a lot of them anyways. |
