GM had that cowl as far back as 1967, but since it has side-marker lights, the oldest this could be is a 1968. |

The lack of a fixed rear window on the Wayne body makes this a 1975 at the earliest, as 1973-74 re-used the old style glass panel on the last window from the 1967-1972 model Wayne school bus. Also, on the inside the "cage" area for the prisoners can be seen utilizing the pre-existing two "bars" that go to the ceiling on the bus. These were outlawed on school buses by the US government in 1977, so 1975-76 is the only years this could be. |

All conventional school, prison and church buses on Chevy/GMC chassis still used the 1967-1972 medium-duty truck cowl even in '73 when Chevy & GMC redesigned their pickups & medium-duty trucks, This continued until 1983 and for '84 The '73 vintage Chevy/GMC medium-duty truck cowls were used. |

The front, which is how we ID chassis cabs, is off a 1967-1972 model. The bus body was clearly added to an older chassis. The cab is from 1967-1972 but has side markers so at the earlier a 1968. |
