Bond: I see you managed to get the Lotus back together again.
Q: I disregard these jibes about our equipment, 007. I don't suppose you find it funny in the field.
Bond: Indeed I don't.

After his white Esprit explodes, Bond gets a new bronze one, which he takes to Cortina. However the only extra feature seen on this one is a rack for a set of skis. It appears briefly in 4 scenes.

In this scene the white Renault 18 is passing in the background. Though it is rather TOO background.

My favourite Bond car, the red Turbo Esprit.

Both of the cars for For Your Eyes Only were originally white, but the colour lacked contrast for the ski resort scenes and hence '678 was resprayed Bronze. That's the story I've read.

The Lotus Esprit Turbo of this period was noted as being the 'fastest' production 4-cylinder car at that time, doing something about 154 MPH straight from stock, according to the R&T road test I read at that time.

I read OPW 678W was a fake plate used on 2 cars and a rolling chassis that was blown up although that registration is now on a lotus esprit that is still on the road.

OPW 654W was the plate one car was first registered with and NCL 458V was the 2nd.

NCL 458V was also used in a 1983 movie G.B.H, the car is now registered as 459 JTA
