Well spotted! Indeed Autobianchi 500 Furgoncino. I think these were built between 1972 and 1975. -- Last edit: 2008-09-29 23:31:14 |

Good that you know since when this van was made. In my old book about the Italian cars the 500 made by Autobianchi is described as "A500" (on the other hand in text it is sometimes written just 500, but Axxx fits to the way in which Autobianchis were named). |

Maybe it wasn't exported? On the other hand I have a pics of it with Polish plates (though it is rather individual import). According to mentioned book, the production was moved to Autobianchi in 1968 and the last one was made in 1978/79. For the entire production period it has suicide doors and nearly no changes in the body - it was cheaper for the Fiat, as on the same machines they still could made spare parts and body elements to the old normal 500's. Now when we have one about which we are sure that it is Autobianchi I think I wil rename this one from Austria: /vehicle_192963-Autobianchi-A500-Giardiniera-1968.html to Fiat. -- Last edit: 2008-09-30 22:00:42 |

Might be my infos weren't too accurate... If you say, Michał, that production was moved to Autobianchi in 1968, I'd guess we should give this year as first possible date. Seems to be more logical indeed. IIRC the wagon version differed from the Fiat by its fixed rear side window (the Fiat had a sliding window). |

Well, maybe vans were introduced later? But, ok I will chnage the year. |
