This scene was the reenactment of the death of West Berlin University student, Benno Ohnesorg who was shot by West German Police Officer, Karl-Heinz Kurras in the courtyard of Krumme Strasse 66, West Berlin on the evening of the 2nd June 1967. According to the West German reports, Ohnesorg was attending a protest near the Deutsche Oper Berlin in opposition of the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's state visit to West Germany who was attending an performance of the Magic Flute by Mozart.
