If you look very carefully at the tractor unit, you can clearly see that this is a right-hand drive truck due to the position and location of the steering box and link lever. The Shining was filmed in the UK so this truck may have been something like a Leyland, Bedford or a Ford D Series 2x4. Just my thoughts :-)

(??) Nearly the whole movie was made in the USA! only one scene was filmed in the UK... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081505/locations this scene also looks a little cold to be in the UK in my opinion, maybe its a mirrored image of an American truck...?

All scenes in the US were filmed by a second unit, most of the film was filmed on sound stages at Elstree Studios as Stanley Kubrick (the director) lived in England.

Just because only one of the locations in that list is in the UK :o ... films do not just shoot one scene in each location (especially when that location is a studio) :p

The bulk of the film (all the indoor scenes and even some hotel exterior scenes) was shot at Elstree Studios, England, with some second unit filming done in America. Apparentely Stanley Kubrick had a real fear of flying so once he moved to England in the 60s, he directed his films there for the rest of his life, including the Vietnam war film Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut (New York streets were recreated at an English studio)

Although I have no idea where this scene was actually filmed. At a guess I'd say it was the US rather than England, but I could be wrong.

TwinSplitter's probably right about this being a British truck (I'm thinking this scene was shot at the studios in England after all)

Although it pains me that this isn't an American truck. From my searching, the likeliest match is a 1965-1981 Ford D1000. (Note the air tanks and cab that match.) So unless this truck was exported, I highly doubt that this scene was filmed in America.
