Well wasn't parked on every corner, but also wasn't so rare. Anyway it takes the bigger part of the pic and is well visible on the thumb. so maybe can stay?

Some years later, in Germany the Audi Typ 43 had the reputation to be very popular in Poland. And this was true. So in the mid- to lates 90ies, nearly all Typ 43, you could see over here, had Polish license plate.

As I wrote you didn't meet them on the streets everyday (well actually the same was even after the 1989), but they were well known. Like for the comecon realities West German cars were imported in quite big numbers during the 1980's. My far family from Starachowice (Star trucks hometown) had one (the C2) in those times. For the 4 y.o. kid its size was monumental - nearly like the gas tanker. And that's why I also want to have it here - it reminds me a small piece of my childhood. ;(
