If this is a '48, I'm going to have to say this is an Olds 76. |

Is "76" one of the Futuramic Oldsmobiles? |

It's not a Futuramic. Futuramic is restricted to the 1948 series 90, and the 1949 models. Ddey, how do you tell a series 70 from a series 60? |

In 1948 the series 60 and 70 Oldsmobiles were called "Dynamic" , the 98 with the first new postwar body " Futuramic".To tell a series 60 from a series 70 externally , one can rely on the wheelbase .The series 70 cars were much longer with a wheelbase of 125 inches compared to 119 inches for the series 60. Furthermore, the series 70 only offered a 2 and a 4 door fastback sedan, the series 60 also a notchback sedan plus the convertible and wagon .Since the picture is quite clear I'd go for a 1948 Oldsmobile Dynamic series 60 DeLuxe Sedan with the shorter wheelbase. It is a DeLuxe ( the steering wheel appears to be of the light brown colored type of the DeLuxe models ) and as judged by the straight belt line at the rear probably a notchback style . At the end of 1948 the series 60 and the eight cylinder series 70 (78)were phased out. |

I just based it all on the grille. The Futuramic ones(which this isn't) had one big piece below the top lining. |

Somehow the rear window seems to be too high for a notchback... You're sure it's not a fastback ? |
