 supplied by an enthusiast who is into the US Airborne....its supposed to be a US Army Engineers vehicle in 1942..yet they have used a Jeep in "Airborne" spec for filming...."A" frame towing bracket to front..no bumperettes to back..no jerrycan or holder or spare tyre to back..with these modifications, this Jeep should not be in the UK till 1943/44 with the US Airborne...the "S" stencilled to the bonnet side indicates the vehicle has been "Surpressed" for the fitting of wireless equipment..so this vehicles "job" within the airborne is that of a radio communications vehicle, so should be filled with radio equipment.

4x4peru wrote The 2 insets from Sunbar show a Ford GPW with the desert tank modification mounted on the right front of the grille. Unlikely to be the same jeep as primary pic.

 Ford GPW. Watched this episode. The above pic of jeep w/ tow bar w/o spare tire or fuel container is an early Ford GPW. The script FORD can be seen as the vehicles drives away.
