Looks like a Fuego, yes.
In the front I was thinking that the trunk was too sloped for a 18, but after checking on Google Images I think you are right.

Since the scene is in Eastern Europe, they must be second hand export cars there... They where never sold new.

Part of the chase scene was filmed on a specially-built set in England. I think this is why many of the cars in the scene are not Soviet models.

That is probably why some of the cars used are not typical of what you would see being sold as used cars in Russia - i.e Tatra, Plymouth TC3, US version Fuego, etc. Most likely these cars where left behind in UK by US military personnel and picked up cheap from scrappers by the filming company..

The monument is realy wierd. The rider with wings... Not typical for soviets and russians. More like polish.

And the mineral water-truck on the right seems not really Russian either

Did Belgium sell old public transport buses to Russia? In the background: That looks like a Vanhool city bus in the old belgian livery (bottom half orange, creme roof, separated by blue stripe)?

Please note, the background cars have selective yellow headlights.

Except the fact, that this particular scene wasn't filmed in Russia, it's to say, that Russia is full with imported used vehicles, cars, buses, trucks and so on, from whole Europe. And of course from Japan, too.

@wekke @130rapid This scene was filmed on a studio backlot in the UK. For a British production, France and Belgium would be convenient places to look for left hand drive vehicles.

P.S. More views of the bus:

Does anyone spot a 1986+ facelift model among them?
